2022 Georgia Tech Giving Day

From noon ET on April 4, 2022, to noon ET on April 5, 2022, the whole Tech community will come together to support Roll Call on Georgia Tech Giving Day. It is a 24 hour period where Yellow Jackets from far and wide will show their Georgia Tech pride while supporting vital scholarships, providing funds for student needs, and helping to enhance student focused programs.

The 24-hour campaign kicks off officially at noon ET Thursday, April 4, 2022, and closes at 11:59 AM ET on April 5, 2022. 

You should participate on Georgia Tech Giving day because it benefits current and future students by providing much needed financial support, it illustrates the awesome collective power of the Tech community, and it is a way to show your Georgia Tech pride!

In addition, there are also opportunities throughout the day to amplify your gift immediately! Thanks to our generous matching donors, there will be special opportunities for your gifts to Roll Call to be matched, doubling the impact of your investment. There will also be exciting challenges taking place throughout the day.

And don't forget—gifts made during Georgia Tech Giving Day will also add your name to the list of those who contributed to the historic 75th Roll Call. 

Your gift to Roll Call during Georgia Tech Giving Day will help provide financial support where the need is greatest—things like scholarships and student-focused programs. Roll Call donors have made experiences like these possible:

- Kyle J. Smith PUBP 2022 was able to take part in a summer internship in the United States Senate through Tech’s Federal Jackets Program

- Stockton De Laria BA 2021 was able to participate in life-changing educational experiences while earning his B.S. in Business Administration – made possible through The Atlanta Public School (APS) Scholars Program

- Emily Woods ME 2010 is making strides in confronting the problem of sanitation in the developing world after she first confronted the issue in an interdisciplinary senior Capstone Design course at Georgia Tech

- Zach McGee CS 2022 benefited from many life-changing opportunities and learned invaluable lessons outside the classroom about leadership and team building thanks to programs that connected him with alumni mentors and like-minded students.

- Sarah Rutledge BMED 2024 jumped at the chance to be a part of the Roll Call supported Stamps President’s Scholarship Program at Georgia Tech, which is offered to the top one percent of high school seniors who enroll at Tech and provides amazing scholarship benefits, a network of fellow scholars, one-on-one mentors, and funding for study outside the classroom.

Because Georgia Tech Giving Day is a 24-hour giving campaign, we strongly encourage you to make your gift online. This is the only way to assure your gift will qualify for matches and challenges taking place throughout the event. To give by phone, you may call 404-385-4483 (GIVE) during the event, but we cannot guarantee these gifts will count toward matches and challenges.

When you make a gift on Giving Day, you are supporting Roll Call and helping to make the Tech experience possible for current and future Yellow Jackets by providing funding that can be used where it is needed most—for things like student needs, scholarships, and program support.

We also realize that many alumni have strong connections with the student organizations that are such a vibrant part of the Tech community. To celebrate those special connections, donors who support Roll Call on Georgia Tech Giving Day will be able to vote for qualifying student organizations to earn prizes for their group throughout the event. 

Matches and challenges help your gifts on Georgia Tech Giving Day make an even bigger impact. Donors who support Roll Call on Georgia Tech Giving Day will be able to vote for qualifying student organizations to earn challenge prizes for their group throughout the event. You can view a list of participating student organizations and brief descriptions here.

Share your stories and images using the hashtag #GTgives to help spread the word on social! The GTgives.org homepage will be constantly updated throughout the day to show messages and stories from across the Tech community. 

You can also become a Georgia Tech Giving Day Ambassador, sharing messages and creating excitement before and during the event. Spread awareness within your network and encourage others to join you in giving back to Tech (for more information see “What Is an Ambassador”).

Ambassadors are Georgia Tech Giving Day’s digital leaders who reach out to their network, share messages, and create excitement before and during the event. With an investment of a few hours, Ambassadors help spread awareness—reaching out to their network by email, text, phone, and/or social media to ask fellow Tech alums and friends to participate in Giving Day. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, you can register online or email rollcall@alumni.gatech.edu with questions.

Thousands of companies match gifts to higher education, which can double or even triple your gift. To find out if your employer (or your spouse's employer) has a matching gift program, please visit gtalumni.org/matchinggift. If so, please contact your Human Resources representative for a matching gift form. You may need to provide the Georgia Tech Foundation Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the form: 58-6043294.

Georgia Tech Giving Day provides a moment for our Yellow Jackets to shine—a time to share their pride and celebrate the meaningful connections born at Tech that will last a lifetime. For many alumni, those connections were formed through the student organizations they chose to be a part of within the Tech community. 

To celebrate those special connections, donors who support Roll Call on Georgia Tech Giving Day will be able to vote for prequalified student groups as part of the Giving Day Student Organization Challenge. One gift (no matter the size) means one "vote" for a student organization, and each vote can help a student organization win cash prizes to support their mission.

To be eligible, organizations simply had to sign up to participate AND meet the three criteria below:

• Organizations must be an officially Registered Student Organization in good standing with Georgia Tech.

• Organizations must host a Student Alumni Association (SAA) interest session with a SAA or GTSF student leader at one of their meetings.

• They must have 10 or more members join SAA or they must be a 100% Organization (all members are part of SAA).

First, ensure the address you entered for your gift matches the current billing address for the card (for example, the card is not tied to an old address or a business). Your credit card is charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site. Once you complete your gift transaction, you will receive an email confirmation which will serve as your official receipt.

Georgia Tech Giving Day is a unique, one-day-only online event, and we encourage all gifts to be made online at GTgives.org. However, we will do our best to accommodate these special gifts.
